The Armory (Men’s Group)
The Armory is our weekly men’s gathering which takes place on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. We are men who are committed to helping one another to be real men living for God. We encourage each other in our faith, our families, and in our work.
Men’s Group Outings
Throughout the year, the men get together for some recreational activities.
4th Saturday Fun Shoot
You may be wondering what a fun shoot is all about. Here are the key points you need to know:
It can be a great family fun event.
As long as rules are followed, it is safe for all. Neither profanity or offensive dress is allowed.
It is a good way to gain proficiency and confidence with your pistol.
You don’t have to be a professional. This is an event for all skill levels – from novice to police to world class competitive shooters.
You will practice useful skills not available elsewhere (rapid shooting, movement, reloading, use of barriers, etc.)
The FUN SHOOT happens every 4th Saturday.
Check-In begins at 9:00. Hammer down at 10:00.
Visit https://practiscore.com/clubs/american-action-shooting to pre-register for Squad 3 (FBCH squad) or register upon arrival.
It takes place at “A Place To Shoot”
13250 Pleasanton Rd.
San Antonio, TX 78221
What if I am really inexperienced?
If you unfamiliar with firearms, that is no problem. Memorize the four rules of gun safety, read your owner’s manual, and show up with your unloaded pistol.
RULE I: TREAT EVERY GUN AS IF IT WAS LOADED
RULE II: NEVER POINT YOUR GUN AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY
RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON TARGET
RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
What is the cost?
The cost will depend on how much you shoot.
Novice shooters are encouraged to shoot Short Courses using only 1 box of ammo. Minimum rounds for long courses approximately 100 rounds or 2 boxes of ammo.
You can shoot a 2nd gun for $5.00 extra.
Entry fee for AASA members only $20.00, non-members $25.00.
You can pay with cash, check, or PayPal at Check-In.
What do I need to bring with me?
